Sacramento’s Leading Pool & Spa Builder

When Quality and Value Matter Most

The Process

As the builder of hundreds of custom pools, Wells Pools knows that it helps to have an overview of the building process. We have earned our reputation for exceptional customer service by building beautiful, high-quality custom pools on time and within budget, and by keeping the lines of communication open with our homeowners throughout the entire process.

Design

A Wells Pools Design Professional will meet with you at your home to gather information to help us in the custom design of your swimming pool. We’ll measure the yard, consider the location for sunlight and usability, and discuss all of the available options with you. In this initial consultation, we listen carefully so that we can seamlessly incorporate your dreams and your vision into an elegant and functional backyard oasis while staying within your budget.

Within two weeks, your custom design will be completed and ready for review.

Using an advanced 3D modeling design software, you’ll actually be able to see what your new pool will look like in amazing detail. You’ll also be able to discuss and decide on further options, details, and features.

Once you decide to move forward, we immediately begin to schedule the building phase of your new pool.

Excavation, Rough Plumbing and Electric, Steel and Gunite:

We will start by grading and excavating, or digging out the site. We’ll also perform any necessary demolition during this phase. After the site has been excavated, we will complete the rough plumbing and electric and then install the steel reinforcing rods, or rebar which adds to the strength and long life of your pool shell. Your pool will now have its initial inspection. Next a concrete mixture, called gunite is pneumatically applied under great pressure to bond tightly around the rebar. This reinforces the steel, and gives the pool longer-lasting strength.

Tile/Water Features/Rock/Masonry/Concrete:

Tile is now installed along what will be the waterline of the interior of the pool. Wells Pools is proud to offer and install a variety of pool tiles in various sizes, shapes and colors. Our pool tiles are water resistant, slip resistant and made to last. We have a wide selection to help even the most discriminating pool owner transform your pool to an extraordinary one.

Our attention to detail is one of the things that sets us apart from other pool builders. We want your swimming pool to be more than just functional – it should add interest and beauty to your backyard. Adding a water feature, such as a waterfall or fountain, into your pool’s design can help accomplish this.

Water features come in many different styles. From a raised spa that pours over some type of spillway into the pool below to a bubbling fountain rising from a beach entry or baja ledge, or maybe water spouts arching water across the pool’s surface, or a cascade of water from a raised wall, the list goes on and on. Your Wells Pools designer will enjoy working with you on these dazzling details to further customize your swimming pool.

The use of natural and/or manmade rock can have a dramatic effect on your swimming pool design. From natural stone veneers on a raised wall or deck to dramatic boulders flanking a pool or defining a waterfall, the use of rock helps to create the kind of serene and breathtaking atmosphere you’d find in nature.

Wells Pools can use these same types of stone and/or rock to create a stunning BBQ and/or fireplace to compliment the look of your swimming pool.

Next up, pool decking, which not only frames your pool, it further enhances the beauty of your backyard with many choices in materials, colors and patterns. Wells Pools only uses the best concrete installers who specialize in swimming pool decking. Once formed, we will get your approval of the lay-out and get an inspection before the decking is installed.

Equipment/Interior Finish/Start-Up

We now install your pool equipment. Wells Pools offers various choices in pool equipment from standard to environmentally friendly to complete automation. Any options such as gates, fences, or alarms will also be installed here and your pool will go through another inspection.

Finally, the interior finish of your pool will be installed. Whether you choose plaster or any of the pebble finishes this is another opportunity to customize your pool by choosing the color. Once installed, we will now begin filling your pool with water!

Be patient, we’re almost done…a few more finishing touches including finish electric and hooking up your equipment, plus we have one final inspection. We will also send in a Swimming Pool Service company specializing in new swimming pool start-ups. They will get the chemicals balanced in your new swimming pool, show you how to brush it so you get the best possible finish and give you any other maintenance information required to get your pool ready to swimming. Before the end of the 30-day period, they will also give you a pool equipment orientation and let you know how to maintain your gorgeous new swimming pool.

Best of all, they will let you know when you can JUMP IN!!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing Wells Pools as your swimming pool builder. We are proud and honored to have been part of your backyard transformation and trust that your experience with us was a pleasant one. We hope you are able to create many special memories in your new swimming pool with family and friends.

As a final note, our business is almost all referral based because of customers like you and we would love it if you would tell a friend or two about us. And of course, do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
